Full House

first_imgSomething that is very rare these days happened last Friday night at Batesville High School.  The Bulldogs were playing Franklin County.  By the time the varsity game began, almost all of the seats were filled with fans.Part of this could be attributed to the fact that Batesville was playing a nearby conference school.  The other reasons included the first graders from BPS who entertained at halftime and the introduction of Garrett’s Gang before the varsity game.  Normally both teams line up for the anthem near their benches, but this time Franklin County lined up with the Bulldogs.  This was done so that both teams could cheer for the Special Persons Group who participated in a basketball camp.   This camp was run by the Batesville coaching staff and the basketball players. As each person was introduced they ran through a tunnel made by the BHS players.  Coach Garrett said on radio after the game that he wished everyone could have seen the smiles on those participating.  We couldn’t see all the smiles, but we could see the excitement and hear the roar of the crowd as they were honored.  It was a good feeling.last_img read more
