Oppo India on Tuesday announced the much anticipated F9 Pro in India. Prior to its launch, the company has been teasing the phone quite a lot and also revealed a lot of key details. The highlight of the device is what the company calls a Waterdrop display which is essentially because of the shape of the notch that is small and rounded in the shape of a water droplet. The notch looks inspired by the Essential Phone but Oppo is trying to give it its own unique identity. Notably, Vivo is also planning to launch a new phone soon that will sport a similar Waterdrop display. Apart from this, the phone also comes with the super fast VOOC charging support.Alongside the Oppo F9 Pro, the company has also announced the Oppo F9 in India. Both the F9 and the F9 Pro comes with almost same specifications apart from differences in RAM and storage department. The Oppo F9 Pro packs 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, while the Oppo F9 comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. As for the pricing, the Oppo F9 Pro has been launched with a price tag of Rs 23,990, while the Oppo F9 comes at Rs 19,990. Both the Oppo F9 Pro and the F9 will be selling exclusively on Flipkart and Oppo India website. Pre-orders for both the phones will kick off on August 21. Oppo will also include an AI battery management feature. As for the cameras, the F9 Pro houses a 25-megapixel AI sensor similar to the Oppo F7 and F9. Additionally, the camera will support what the company calls Sensor HDR, which is a feature that is also found in the Oppo F7.The F9 Pro will run Android 8.1 Oreo based on ColorOS 5.2. It houses a 3,500mAH battery with super fast VOOC Flash Charge support that will deliver 2 hours of talktime after 5 minutes of charge.
